the second ceremony for the Hamdan bin Mohammed Programme for Smart Government to be held at Dubai World Trade Centre. The ceremony awarded innovation by all standards to ‘City Builders’ who apply the best state-of-the-art technologies in service delivery.

To illuminate this context, HQ Creative engaged with Protec in their creative development to exhibit the best state-of-the-art technologies in the visual industry.

Automation & Rigging
The stage centred on a 5m x 5m cube required to rotate though 180º on a central axis, raise, lower and pitch during the show with all the movements working with and enhancing the tracking video content.

The show’s projection system showcased technical regional firsts – employing Cast’s Blacktrax system to provide consistent and precise image tracking, auto-calibrating a D3 media server.

For this corporate awards ceremony with a projected opening section, lighting was both sympathetic and supportive. The canvas of 100m of laser cut black molten drape with a laminated rear projection surface came to life with city colours and VL3000 Spots. The stage edging dressed with 15,000 x 250mm Schnick Schnack strips with 88 Artnet control universes with MA2 show control, fibre network and calibrated for Blacktrax tracking for the MC.

With a curved stage, Protec Audio took a tailored approach to cover the 180º room using a selection of L-Acoustics KARA , 115 HiQ’s and ARCSII powered by LA Rack amplifiers and run from a Digico SD9 desk. The sound system was integrated into the overall event design, complimenting lighting and multimedia elements.
